The software is fairly easy to use--as easy as the federal income tax can be to understand; but, that being said, it does have a few hard-to-understand places that it takes time and study to determine the meaning of.
Cons: Time consuming

This software is easy to use and a great price. E-filing is easy, too. I've been using this software for years and can't imagine doing my taxes at a tax place.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

I used the Mac version for the first time, and there was no way to overridge fields in Schedule C which I've done for years with my own lists of items using the Windows version. Worse, e-filing failed and messed up my entire deal. I didn't see the message that it had failed until I'd already sent in my check. I had to take another trip to the office and print out the forms and send them separately. It seemingly turned out okay, but the reason for the failed e-file was wrong. I'd included the proper data and it said I hadn't. By far my most disappointing year with HRB and I've used it for two decades now.

Cons: Hard to prepare

Will never buy again. Multiple technical errors with downloaded program. They knew about the program problem and had me download a "better" one. Got error messages from IRS. Still waiting for my refund 3 1/2 months later.
