I've used HRBlock for at least ten years, better every year. Help and advice always available almost immediately. Well designed Q&A format makes it easy.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would definitely recommend to others. I have used H&R for many years and find it easy to input information and like the way it lets me know what the tax liability is as I do it.
Would have given 5 stars, but your software missed an item in the Oregon tax that would have returned over $300. Fortunately, the State found the error and paid me.
Easy to use. Found some help, except the software had a flaw according to IRS. I entered that my husband and I did not receive the latest stimulus check and the software accounted for that, however the IRS denied the computation and we were told that we did not qualify for the check even tough we had less than the $150,000 cutoff to qualify for the payout.
The software worked fine. When we needed some support it was impossible to get help! If you have a problem believe it or not you are better off calling the IRS directly!
When I tried to e-file my Minnesota return, the H&R Block software found 2 issues. “We need the State Distribution from your Form 1099-R”. After an hour and a half on hold, I finally reached software support. I was told to enter the 1099-R manually instead of importing it. This did not work so I had to file a paper copy of my Minnesota return.
Every year I "discover" a bug in H&R software which precludes e-filing. This year, software would not match the prior year AGI (even with an IRS transcript document), so I had to paper file, FOUR months & waiting for my refunds. I'm tired of H&R blocks shoddy software & "support" tells me, well you can always file in paper - well DUH!!! I'm am DONE being an unpaid beta tester for software that does not function.
