I have used the tax software successfully for several years. But in 2022 (2021 taxes) I had an issue that the phone contacts said was software related and it was uncertain when there would be a fix. On the upside, I was able to contact a live person for the explanation but switched to another software to finish my taxes. I requested a refund but crickets.
I’m pretty sure Charles Schwab is one of the larger brokerage companies in the USA, although somehow HR Block could not automatically import from Schwab even with updates past late March / early April which caused the need to manually type hundreds of stock trades. Seriously going to look into other tax software options next season!
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
Software does not prompt for HSA expenses paid Vs HSA deposit, I'm now in State pf Wisconsin Tax trouble and the Local Office, won;t provide any support
It was the worst experience I had ever endured. How dare U release your READY FOR USE systems without getting rid of the FREAKING BUGS?? The worst 1 was the: YOUR AGI FOR LAST YEAR DOES NOT MATCH THE IRS FIGURES Calling the IRS was futile because that is their biggest SECURITY QUESTION USED BY THEM!! AFTER your 3rd update that it disappeared as a warning and I could proceed filling out my return. The next was filling the KS STATE return. Turns out that unlike with other states your brain trust did NOT have the DECEASED SPOUSE within the filing year option and I had to MAIL IN??? the return--MAIL IN AS IN: trip to the overcrowded post office, wait in line with coughing folks--I am 81years old and unhappy-as U can tell. Last year I purchased the STATE/FEDERAL with the free state filing for way less then the SURPRISE SURPRISE higher cost and the EXTRA $$ for the state filing which FORTUNATELY ??? I could NOT use due to the missing software provision. After reading THIS REPORT--PLEASE TELL ME--how proud R U of your product-your totally inaccessible customer support--always busy-phone lines- personnel-and your cost for a half backed software. I would love to hear your side of this!
