Ive been using H&R Block for over 15 years, ive spoke to a rep, ive chated thur the online help, and i highly recommend. Easy to use and the program help you through each section or skip it and do it yourself. I ve used the small business tax program too. Great!

Good as Turbo tax without big price. tested both HR and Turbo on one year and number came out the same. I have been using HR for over 10 yrs and have no change in my opinion about HR tax software quality.

The reason we need this kind of software is that the tax preparation industry lobbies congress to keep from the IRS providing a free alternative. It's difficult to provide high marks for a product that should not be necessary in a functioning civil society.
Cons: Time consuming

Usually pretty easy to follow. This year's was a bit more of a challenge with the stimulus check issue. It was not clear enough in my opinion. Also, there needs to be connectivity with more major brokerage houses. That being said, I would have rated it higher for the general ease of use and the year over year memory if it weren't for thise items. They had a major impact on the ease of use this year.

The software (download) deserves 5* but it's ALWAYS a hassle getting it to work, and getting through to a tech support person who can help you. It will be a 3 minute fix once you get to the right person, but it might take you 3 to 5 hours on the phone to get to the right person. But it's a 5* program once you deal with the hassles. And it's a download not cloud based, which I strongly prefer.
