I attempted to use the online version and quickly fled back to the standalone version installed on my machine. The standalone version is clearer, more stable, and just feels more secure. Like all software it has quirks to learn but the product works.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

Couldn't download schwab or ally bank when I got the software and it took a couple of months before you worked it out. That time frame put me under the gun to be able to file in time.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

Ok software but room for improvement. Not super user friendly for people new to doing their own taxes. TurboTax walks you through with more handholding for the inexperienced. That being said this is much cheaper so you pay a lot for that extra TT handholding. This did my taxes no problem but I am experienced at doing my own taxes.

Cons: Time consuming

Software is extremely intuitive and the description for when to use or not use a particular claim are detailed and extremely beneficial. I definitely feel H&R Block software is a fantastic tool for those interested in doing their own federal and state income tax return paperwork.

I liked the software in several ways. Establish the order of data entry. Assist in avoiding errors. Running computation as I progressed. The final check to show that the return was accurate and ready to submit. Much quicker refund.
