This leads you through a well organized path to do your own tax return. I like the included e-filing feature that greatly speeds any refund you may get. I do prefer the stand alone software to keep my data privately secure and to make it easy to do trial calculations and save them for reference. The notepad - calculator feature needs to be made easier to find and use.

Paid State Tax Penalty due to Incorrect Calculatio

For the first time ever, in using this software, I had to pay a penalty for my Ohio state income tax, because H&R Block Deluxe calculated my quarterly tax payments too low in 2021. It calculated it too low again this year, but I was wise enough to override its recommendation. If you cannot trust the software's calculations, how can you trust using it? After over 20 years of using TaxCut/H&R Block, I will switch to TurboTax.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

I find the step by step easy & through. I find that the software gives me the best chance to minimize my tax bill.
