I have used this program for years and love it. However had major problems with computation of stimulus payments this year. Computer indicated eligibility and IRS said nope!
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am too old to do my own taxes

After using Turbo Tax for many years I decided to try Deluxe plus State. I made an error and may have to file amended returns at least for the state. I thought it did well with my data and my refund was good, but I really needed more guidance and clarity which Turbo Tax provides.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Return Rejected for incorrect AGI - 2nd Year

Very disappointed my E-file was rejected for incorrect AGI for two years in a row. I used your software. How could this happen.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

1099-B Difficulties

Overall the software is excellent. My one issue lies with entry of 1099-B capital gains/losses. I had 100+ entries to make - some I entered manually and others I downloaded from Charles Schwab. The form for entering data for a specific stock is fine, but I found the H&R software was not good identifying and presenting the source of the 1099-B information (this is the step before you enter the actual gains/losses). So, when I went back to doublecheck my work, it was difficult to get to a particular 1099-B and step through it. Also I couldn't find a way to look at a list of all my entries.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

Frustrated

I've used HR Block for years. I had to file two state returns. The software chose which state return to eFile - every time I selected the state I wanted to file, when I navigated to the efile page it would default to the state I did not want to efile, and would not let me change it. There was a section where the software asked me which, if any, state I wanted to efile, and when I selected it and moved to the next screen, it switched back to the other state. This is going to delay a refund and resulted in my filing the second state return passed the deadline, because after I efiled my federal and the first state, the program said after my two returns were accepted that I might be able to efile a second state return. So I waited. Guess what? The software would not efile the second state return AND it was 2 days passed the filing deadline. It would have been nice if the program had mentioned that up front. I am not using HR Block anymore.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Program - I would not use any other software

First Time User- Great Results

Kept crashing

I was working my taxes on 4/16 and the software repeatedly crashed at the same point. It just closed losing a lot of entries. A reboot of my laptop got it going again. On Sunday I was near to finish and it started crashing again. But I finally got my return completed. On 4/18 doing my wife's return it crashed over and over and I ended up days late filing the return
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
