Great for Fed - Not So Much for State!

Unable to file my AR State Return electronically with this Software!!
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

Normally good, one terrible gltch this year

Everything worked as normal except when entering 1099B information, accordong to the review before filing returned an error stating ""X" on Form 8949 is not a permitted override".
No matter what I did, I was unable to remove the offending "X", and the program would not allow me to e-file.

Trouble this year

I have always used H&R software to file my taxes. This time, 2021 taxes, I could not import information from last year's return. I had to hand type all of the information. As a result, I misspelled my very own Last Name and my return was rejected. Not a lot of fun this year.
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve used the H&R Tax for many years. This was first time with a problem. It was in the selling of stock. The program asks if there was a stock sale. It doesn’t allow you to do any thing until you’re near the end of INCOME.
And the section involving required minimum distributions is not up to par either.
I took exactly what was required. There should be a place to say that. You concentrate on over contributing or not taking the required amount. Have someone go over those two areas.

I used this same software for years. Not nearly as helpful as it was in the past. Not able to Technical and Tax help. Some areas were very frustrating.

If taxes can be comfortable, this software makes it so. A long-time user who finds the process fairly straightforward. I do think the state programs could be "beefed up" and made a bit easier.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Makes doing taxes really easy

I use this program every year (for more the 10 years) and it always works really well and simplifies doing my taxes to the point where I don't have to stress about a thing. This year, however, I was unable to eFile because I had a Form 1095-A due to having Marketplace Insurance and it couldn't handle Form 8962 entry for eFiling purposes and told me I would have to file by paper. That was a big disappointment..
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!
