I've use the program for many years on my laptop, but it's not Win7 compatible, so I tried to install it on my win10 desktop. It would not install. The Help called for turning off Windows services, and since I use this machine for sophisticated video and audio work, I'm not willing to mess with an operating system that has no problems with dozens of other programs of much greater sophistication. A simple tax data spreadsheet like program should not be so much of a challenge. On the other hand, it worked just fine on the supposedly unsupported Win7 machine! As for the program itself, I'm 100% satisfied with the federal return but disappointed that some simple calculations for the Michigan return have to done manually when all the data is there in the program. It's just transfer a number to the next box if born before a certain year if a box is checked for a municipal pension, half if later but before another year and zero if after. Also when I confirm a questioned entry, my verification is not accepted. I complain about this every year, but it never gets fixed.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

As a long-time user, I cn safely say that H&RBlock tax software is excellent. Highly recommended.

I have used H&R Block tax software and previously TaxCut software since the 1980’s and would not consider using any other for taxes. It is easy to use, even with the somewhat complex investment issues.
Pros: Fast

Getting more friendly to use. I have one complaint, still some repetitive input of names, w2 info. Need to have the w2 info really excel and since previous years taxes are in dbase, stop the repetitive input. This should include bank information if with same financial institution

Lots of help in preparing my 2021 taxes, and even got help with an amended return when I received a 1099R in the middle of March after filing original and receiving my refund via bank transfer.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund

I chose to try H&R Block tax software this year having used Turbotax for decades as Turbotax was having issues with some forms and delaying my return. Good basic tax software although the CC vendor pay1040 was an absolute clusterf&*k. You would think it would be able to import the user info automatically but it did not, you must input a bunch of personal information again to make your payment. The website did not feel very secure as well.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

I have been using Deluxe version since last more than 30 years, I am missing disk version but got used to downloading type. Very easy to follow each segment.

Very Good with a small hang up

I got hung up for a while on the IRA roll over vs conversion question. I said yes for roll over when it was really a conversion. The question was there with the exception at the end for the Roth IRA. I missed it and even though the 1099 R said it all was taxable. The software exempted it because I classified it as a roll over.
