Many errors, omissions of important data

Your tax software has become hard to follow an is fraught with bad sentence structures and omissions that I needed to download forms and instructios from both federal and state to sort out. Significant ommision example: From a NYS exception for underpayment...

The state instruction states:
"5) you retired in 2020 or 2021 after reaching the age of 62, or you became disabled, and the underpayment was due to reasonable cause and not to willful neglect."

Generally Easy Directions

I purchased this software when a well known competitive company (that I had been with for 10+ years) would not respond to my inability to download their product. I am glad I did. It was far superior for dealing with ministers of religion.
Pros: Easy to prepare

I have been using H&R Block Tax Cut for more than 15 years, and have been totally satisfied with the product provided. They continue to make advances to allow for easier entry of information, and the ability to import tax documents makes filing much easier.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Cumbersome

The Worksheet to fill out with all the information after it was entered took longer to complete than to do the taxes. I did my brothers return. He is single. It took a long time to complete this as it kept demanding wifes information and giving me error readings. Is this a H&R worksheet? What is the purpose? Who required it?
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

Difficult to change and to verify downloaded info

HRBlock software allows downloading of financial institution data. That's great unless there is a problem. When one of my forms was not ready, I had to download the forms from the same financial institution a second time. HRBlock software made duplicate copies of the information already downloaded. What a mess.
Then, because HRBlock software insists on verification of the downloaded data, the delete button and the next button are RIGHT NEXT to each other. There was no "are you sure?" for the delete. I had a lot of trouble finding out what entries had been inadvertently deleted (about 1% in my case). When I re-entered the data, the new data was put in a different sequence than the original.
Bottom line: redownloading and verification of financial institution data was difficult and error-prone.

I understood when it said "ONE STATE" filing, that it included e-file. So, my mistake! Also, not as thorough as Turbo Tax, to me. I'll be going back to TT.

Last year when I owed money to the state, my printed version included a payment voucher with the amount I owed already filled in. This year, I had to hunt down and find the form to print, and write in myself what was owed. I found that rather odd.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

This program is easy to use if you are familiar with the tax forms. I always have trouble making the PDF file of the return using the PDF995 driver.
Pros: Easy to import documents
