AFTER COMPLETING MY GRANDSONS TAX'S AND E-FILING I HAVE RECEIVED 17 EMAILS TELLING ME HIS RETURN HAS BEEN ACCEPTED. I AM WONDERING IF SOMETHING IS SCREWED UP WITH HIS RETURN NOW

Dozens of duplicate email

I used the product for my federal and state returns, no problems. After I used the email submittals, I have received dozens of duplicate email notifications that I have filed each and they received them. At least 40.

The software suggests that if you received a 1099-DIV that reports dividends from more than one holding, you need to create a separate 1099-DIV entry for each holding. Then, for each holding you will enter the appropriate US Treasury percentage. I found this tedious if there are numerous holdings. I reported the 1099-DIV as received, and calculated a percentage to enter that would give the appropriate amount of income from US Treasury dividends. Still tedious, but the software would not allow an amount to be manually entered. Perhaps next year's software will have an easier method of entering US Treasury income from multiple holdings that are all on one 1099-DIV.

We have used HR Block software to prepare our taxes for years. Imagine my surprise when I found out that 1099 DIV and 1099 B data from Charles Schwab could not be imported into the return! What happened??
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had a little difficulty with some of the vocabulary about taxes and had to do my best to answer them. Otherwise easy to use and got through confidentially.

It works which is the main point. The interview is comprehensive and it takes you in a somewhat logical order. I would prefer being in form order. You can submit your taxes and not have even seen a form. I don’t think that’s good if you want to understand your taxes to any degree.

I've been using this product for years with total satisfaction and confidence that I'm getting the same quality service as if I were in the office with an interviewer preparing my taxes. Plus, if ever there is a question, available is the online resources built into the program and the option to speak with a live person.
