Great for feds, not so hot for Massachusetts retur

As usual, the 2021 Deluxe version worked great for me for the 1040. However, I was unable to file electronically for Massachusetts because Block seems to think I should have the TID for both my secondary insurance and MEDICARE! Seriously? Talked with the state tax folks and they said only needed my Medicare # and insurance #, not TID. SO , had to file state Via snail mail, which means delay in refund.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Used this for the first time last year and because it was so easy I decided that this will be my go to tax prep software from now on. Easier than turbo tax and less expensive too!!.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Use to have an accountant do my taxes...bought H&R Block software...did my own taxes to compare the accountant's results...my work with the H&R Block software matched the accountant...fired the accountant now a do my own tax return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

Great software except for one thing

It was fine for my purposes, very easy to use for the most part. The only gripe I have is that your print is much too small, making it hard to read. If there’s a way to make it larger, I wish you would specify this in your instructions.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Two Minor Glitches That Won't Apply To Most People

I not only do our taxes, I do several family members' as well, including one who would rather file on paper. When printing, it will print a cover letter and then put form 1040 (or the state equivalent) page 1 on the back of the cover letter. Page 2 of that first form then becomes page 3. Individual forms can be printed, but that becomes a hassle. Also for paper filers, there should be an envelope wizard. I imagine that most people file electronically, which is probably why these haven't been corrected. (I've been using it for several years with the same issues.)
For this year, there's less upselling, which I appreciate. I have no reason to doubt the accuracy. I will be using it again next year and just scowl at the print issues.
FWIW, I checked both "fast" and "time consuming." There are some items that are "Really? That's a thing?" like a form for "Recapture of Indian employment credit." That's on the government, not this particular program, but sheesh!

Not sure that I wanted to use your software again due to my older laptop. I was very surprised with the ease that I could navigate the 2021 version.

best tax software

I've used H&B tax software for the last 3 years. I use to use TurboTax. Never again! H&B outshines Turbo by miles!!! H&B is so easy to use that anyone, even with zero tax filing experience can be confident in correctly filing.
