The cost of e-filing my state return was excessive. This cost should have been included when I purchased the product, or at least, identified on the front end.

Fed taxes finished in mid February. Easy. Font on instructions could be a tad bigger. I increased font on my screen but then instructions ran off screen and I couldn't read them. Font used is ridiculous small.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been using HRBlock Deluxe for several years and I could not be happier.
Easy step-by-step instructions and explanations reduce my anxiety and get the job done fast. Over the years, I have dealt with moving to a different state, selling my home and the ACA mandates. This program handled it all. I have been able to complete my taxes, submit them and have them accepted on the same day. I have never had any problems.

I don't know how many years now that we have been using this software, but it has always been a breeze to use. The compilation of info from year to year is seamless.
Pros: Easy to import documents

Federal was fine. State left much to be desired

The program loaded and ran well. My experience completing the Federal part of the form went smoothly and I was able to e-file with no trouble.
Unfortunately, I discovered actual errors in the state (Arizona) program. The program mis-calculated an exclusion I was not eligible for and further mis-calculated a tax credit that had to be removed from deductions. This same problem has happened with previous year returns. I can correct it manually, but I should not have to.
Also, I am unable to e-file my state return because the program does not support a form needed for a particular charitable contribution! Instead, I am directed to go to my state website, download a copy by myself, fill it out then mail in my entire return. No convenience there!
I will not be recommending this program any longer although I used to be one of its biggest proponents.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pitiful Support

I have been using this software for many years, but recently it seems to have a problem using the e-file system. Something is obviously wrong in the software as the federal forms are rejected for something that is not even on the forms. All I get from support is sent from one person to another and yet no result. I will probably change next year to Turbo Tax to see if that works any better. I will file on paper now even though I have supposedly free filing, which is not working.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
