The program works as it should. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. When necessary, the program directs you to worksheets you may need to complete. I have used H&R Block Deluxe for several years and not had a single problem. Electronic filing is quick and easy. After the program scans for errors or potential audit triggers, simply click the button to submit your filing. You then get a filing authorization number and can easily check your filing status any time thereafter by reopening the program and clicking on a Check Status button. If getting a refund, you can fill in your bank information for direct deposit -- or, as was the case this year, I owed the IRS, it was simple to fill out my bank information for an automatic withdrawal (from either checking or savings) or the program gives you the option to mail in payment. At any point, if you are confused about something, the program always has a relevant information box in view for the form you are working on. If that doesn't answer your question, the program provides direct links to tax professionals to assist you.

Most of my experience with the software this year went well. I did have one instance where it placed me in a loop, which I thought of as a checking technique, at first, but not the third time around. Also, it froze up when I tried to do an update, that was needed to electronically file my return. Tech help was not useful; luckily I managed on my own.
