Great Interactive Set

This is a great set for kids. My 8 year old son had been using his minifigs to "battle", so to have a set where that comes to life with the SmartBrick is awesome. The set is a little pricey but that is expected with the LEGO/Star Wars partnership. It was a straightforward build, but the true value is in the play experience. Well done LEGO.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This set is very good and I highly recommend it.I was hoping to build this with my dad but it was not a build together set so we split in in half.I did the a wing and the throne, he built the lightsaber battle, and my sister built the Death Star shooter. It is very bulky so make space for it.It is so fun my dad and I made a recreation of return of the jedi. It took 3 and a half hours to build so we had a good time together a like Luke and Anikin.

Big Meh

I'm in the tech industry so I definitely didn't want to bypass the new tech that my favorite hobby introduced. It's really not worth it though, I don't think. The smart bricks are mildly entertaining but they do not work well, they are very finicky. The build quality of the sets though is really where you can see corners were cut. I get that they have arduino's or whatever inside of these bricks and have to include a wireless charger etc, so I expected the price to be higher, but they not only upped the price they downgraded the quality of the builds. Which is a massive dig. One or the other. They are not solid builds by any means so I'm not sure how Lego expects kids to play with them if they just fall apart. They are also not really suitable for displaying, which seems the antithesis of lego. I'll not be buying any more of this type of lego I don't think.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Really Excited about Smart Bricks

I'll start by acknowledging that, yes, it's very expensive to get a smart brick right now, but they are so much fun.
I've always loved the integration of Lego with technology, the Mindstorms line is one of my favorites.
I brought the lightsaber dual and A-wing over for my niece (3) and nephew (5) to try and we had a blast. We discovered that while in A-wing mode the smart brick still reacts to blue and green with refueling and repairing, and to smart minifigures like the other starfighters. Once I showed my nephew the smart minifigures would yell if the starship was upside-down he did it constantly and laughed every time while running around and showing everyone.
They both loved the lightsaber duel, with or without the smart bricks. The lights and sounds of course made it more exciting, but it's a good build regardless.
I love the voices, it's reminiscent of the old Lego games, and means they don't have to store actual recordings in every language they want to sell to in the smart brick, which would make it very difficult for one smart brick to easily work across many sets.
I love how I can take the A-wing tag and a smart brick and put it on anything I build and now it's a spaceship. And no, it did not stop us from making our own spaceship noices.
Overall, I'm very excited to see where Lego goes with this.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So much Lego fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kiddo and I had a blast putting this one together! It took a few days and was challenging enough. I love that it's interactive and makes sounds. The only negative comments are there's only 2 cubes capable of making sounds and there are 4 areas that need the cube to be interactive. So you have to take the cube out and reinsert it. I liked all the minifigs that came with it and my son and have been battling Darth vader vs Skywalker a lot. Super fun for the Lego lover!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to follow build instructions. The Smart Bricks light up and make noises which makes for very fun play. Sound effects change based on movement of the smart bricks. Highly recommend this for the start wars and LEGO enthusiast!
