I’m an AFOL who has never watched a single episode of Ninjago but was drawn to this set due to the Cyberpunk asthetic.
It’s an absolutely phenomenal build for so many reasons. The build is a lot more varied and colorful than many of the modulars and incorporates a ton of fun and complex play functions. Lots of unique shapes and structures makes it a more interesting build. Being a LEGO owned property keeps it from having a licensing “tax” and makes is a great value for the money. It’s a lot more customizable than many of the sets more geared towards adults meaning you’ll continue to have fun building onto it weeks after you complete the main build. I had a ton of fun upgrading and “bulking up” the mech that comes with it. Speaking of which- it’s a really cool concept that you build parts of the mech into the set as you go that you can add on at the end.
Just all around really happy with this set. Wishing I’d discovered how great this line is before so many of them have retired. But now eying that City Markets set!
Building this set is a joy and a challenge, that's first and foremost. I've built and connected all of the Lego Ninjago City sets and I have found a few ideal connections between them. Ninjago City Workshops is very satisfying to build and unique in all respects, but one little detail nags at me when I place it with all of the other sets in this series; is it backwards? The walkways line up in most cases if you reverse them? That'd require me to take it all apart and mirror-build it. Work, to be sure. The construction bay for the mech seems to face outward from an ideal position when connected, unless I had mirrored my build? This leaves a very big question in mind; did the Lego designer upload the build instructions for the production process backwards? I love the details, but it feels backwards.
I have all of the large Ninjago sets. This one didn’t disappoint. The build is very diverse with little repetition. Two things to mention. If you don’t like stickers, this set may not be for you. There are three pages of stickers. These are necessary to fully achieve the intended design. Still, that’s a lot of stickers. Second, if anyone can get the build shown in segments 264-266 in book 1 to workout as shown in the instructions, congrats. You’re truly as expert.

I've been building for a long time. I have built every Ninjago City building. I'm getting tired of the amount of stickers in each set, namely the large stickers. Especially clear stickers on clear glass. Why can't Lego print these larger pieces rather than rely on stickers? Small stickers can go unnoticed if they are not quite straight but larger stickers are more visible. Centering a sticker is more difficult on larger pieces as they tend to get attracted to the piece due to static during placement. I have tried various sticker placing tips but, while they helped with centering a sticker and avoiding bubbles, they don't prevent smearing. An opaque sticker can be peeled and replaced without notice but a clear sticker smears if it get pulled. It can smear even without being touched. The large curved clear window sticker has a vertical line across it which makes it look bad and can't be fixed. If the window was a print, none of this would have happened. I also had to get the clear sticker sheet replaced after I found it was missing some printing on several stickers. I find I enjoy the building experience more the longer I go without placing a sticker. In my opinion, the best build experience is a no sticker build.
I had a lot of fun with this set and it looks good be it's self and with other Ninjago City's. I would recommend to put the set in sun light or show case it.

Just getting started but I already appreciate elements of the overall design. This one is clearly not for beginners.

Good set, bad figures

This was an unexpected set that I bought to add to my collection. We were not expecting one of the city modules until early or mid 2026. So it was a good surprise. However the set did lack some needed elements. For starters the set is almost half the size of the previous module, one of my favorites, hopefully that is because we will get a new one soon. The set was smaller which makes it seem a little bit out of place in the city. Another issue are the mini figs. The new show has introduced many new characters who have yet to get mini figs. For example, dojo Frak, Geo, Frohiky, bonzel, Galandra, original euphrasia, Arrakore, and those are just a few. The mini figs in the set are ok like larow and dorama. But getting harmui who hasn’t appeared in 2 years and hasn’t been in that suit in 10 season seemed not necessary and pixel is included in the 3rd set of the year make her less valuable. Zane is cool but not cannon. The lack of city members was also disappointing. Overall a good set just bad minifigs for the price.
