Very disappointed in ice maker

I have been very frustrated with my new LG refrigerator. The ice maker leaves an awful metallic taste in your mouth. I’ve changed the filter multiple times, changed the water hose and even changed both ice makers. I’ve resorted to buying bottled water as I can’t stand to drink the water.

Love The Refrigerator

I received this refrigerator in June 2026. The refrigerator works just as expected when I looked at it in the store and from the research online on what to expect. The only thing I did need a replacement because the bottom drawer did not close (it did soft close) and the converter draw did not soft close and I had to close it such. Everything else was expected. The ice maker is good and I understand it’s small to save more room for the refrigerator. My suggesting is to make an extra tray of ice and leave it in the freezer. The Craft ice take longer than the regular ice to make because it’s a thicker and larger ice ball. I 1/2 filled my Craft ice container so when I get low on the Craft ice I will have enough time to make more ice. Those are easy fixes in my opinion. My refrigerator doesn’t make noise. I just realized when the Craft ice and regular ice is finish the refrigerator have a chime sound. The refrigerator is consistently and work as expected. Cooling temperature of the refrigerator is great. The refrigerator can also be accessible to anyone with mobile challenges.

Worst Ice/water dispenser!!

Overall, I’d give this fridge 4 stars, but the ice/water dispenser is the worst I’ve ever used which makes me want to return it every time I use it.
The ice opening is very large (2½”) and sits flush at the back, so bottles and even glasses can’t seal against it. Ice constantly shoots out the sides and onto the floor. The water nozzle sticks down below the ice chute, preventing you from positioning a glass high enough to contain the ice.
The water dispenser is also poorly designed. The nozzle is about 2½” from the button, so water hits near the back edge of most glasses so you need to be VERY centered. Kids’ bottles are especially problematic since they are 2 ¼” in diameter the dispenser located 2 ½” away causes the water to miss the water bottle completely and hit your hand and run all over the floor.
Water capacity and cooling are disappointing. It only dispenses about 12 oz every 6–8 hours, and even after 12 hours the water is only ~50°F, barely cooler than tap water (fridge set to 37°F).
On the positive side, the colored door, door-in-door, and convertible drawer are great features. The drawer works well as a snack drawer for my son and helps keep the freezer from warming up while he opens the snack freezer door to choose which color popcycle.
The interior looks basic for the price. Competing models at a similar cost feel more premium, with smoked shelves and silver trim.
With a redesigned dispenser and a more polished interior, this could be an exceptional refrigerator. As it stands, the dispenser creates a mess every time it’s used and makes me want to return it.

This fridge has it all!!

It has so many helpful features like the middle drawer that has adjustable temperature which allows you to use it as an additional fridge drawer or an additional freezer. This fridge also makes two types of ice. There is a smaller, everyday size and a large ball size which would be perfect for whiskey or any other drink that you don’t want watered down. The fridge has held up very well the last few months that we have had it. We have had no issues so far and I am so happy to have this in my house!

Lots of storage, terrible tasting ice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fridge looks great and has modern features! The color changing InstaView window is fun and always gets compliments. I like being able to interior lights and put them on a timer within the app. The full-convert drawer is great and I enjoy being able to change the temperature. There are some pretty significant drawbacks. The ice has a terrible plasticy flavor that is still present, but fading, after 2 months of frequent use. A PEX water line had seemed to help some. The craft ice balls don’t form perfectly round and often bounce out of cups. You also can’t dispense water or ice if any door is open. Additionally, the instaview door, freezer and full-convert drawers aren’t soft close. The interior drawers require both fridge doors to be open to access. Overall, I’m happy with the fridge but at the price point I’d expect these design flaws to not be present.
