Too much hype for no reason

I have been using diff laptops over past 7 years as i am part of IT industry. With hp style is guaranteed however the laptop being i7, i dnfeel the power nthe biggest issue with this thd body of laptop. I mean the heat of the fan melted n broke the windings on the body. Canyou believe that n worst is i m not updated for warranties with hp

After having owned an HP for 5 years and having spent weeks doing research, I settled on the HP Envy. Though not a "gaming" computer, it still has tons of power! It boots up in seconds, and is fully launched within 1 minute. It sails through all the programs I use, and doesn't get bogged down when I'm running tons of programs at once, e.x. Firefox, GoogleEarth, Word, PowerPoint, and Logos Bible program. My only two dislikes are:
(1) the touchpad. The whole time you are typing, it will click, click, click..AND..it's not a very good touchpad when being used without a separate mouse.
(2) when using it like a tablet, the screen resolution is not the best if you're trying to watch a movie...whether from a disk (which it does NOT have a built in drive, but one can be purchased fairly cheep), one that you've downloaded, or Netflix. I have two tablets and smart phone that work WAY better for movies and TV shows.

Excellent laptop

This is an excellent laptop however running Outlook in Windows 8 is a bit of a pain and that is commentary only on Windows 8 Outlook. It was difficult to import contacts and had to go through the hassle of setting up Safe Senders and Blocked senders. The laptop is super and can be used easily as a touch screen notepad.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Everything is great but the hinges.

Everything is running great. The only potential problem may be the hinges. I switch back and forth between tablet and PC. On later models a third hinge may be better.

love everything except the control zone pad

For my use this is a great laptop. I do have a problem with the control zone pad. If i am typing and I get to close to it, it will read that and move the cursor. Suddenly I am typing in the middle of a word on a different line or it will do some other function entirely. Than i will have to figure out what happened and fix it. This wastes my time and is very aggravating.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I originally opted for this laptop because of the 360 swivel feature and I love it. I use my laptop for work mostly and its great for my mini-presentations during meetings. The resolution is perfect; touch-screen, no complaints. It's a little difficult to adjust to the new features of the mouse pad, but you get used to it! In all, I totally recommend!

Extended hours of battery life
