Works if you have the correct remote software upgrade with Tesla superchargers, but you must connect it in the order the app tells you to. If you try to connect the adapter before the Tesla app tells you to, you get an error message that your car is not able to charge. Connect as instructed and it works fine
This heavy feeling, high quality, awesome adapter is all you need to use the Tesla Super charger network. It’s certified by third parties as it meets safety standards that are set by them. The interlock confused me at first, but once you stop the charging at the supercharger station using the app, it’s easy to disconnect. It’s compatible with my Dodge Charger Daytona, and performs beyond expectation. It meets all of my specifications and I’m really glad I have it. Being able to use the super charger network has pretty much eliminated any range anxiety that I had previously had.
I have been able to charge at Tesla chargers using the Tesla app and Shell app linked through Lectron. I've seen speeds up up to 190 kw through the adapter. Lectron REALLY needs to sell one with a 6 foot extension cable as that would mean I'd be able to park in the same spot as the charger instead of occupying 2 spots--the one I'm using and the one to the right of my vehicle since that's the actual unit I'm using.
The first time I used this it didn't work. Realized that the charge location I was at didnt support adapters. Let the BMW nav guide me to a different charge location that supports adapters, and it worked great! Charging started before I got back in vehicle (Plug and Charge thru Shell Recharge). In 6 minutes, it charged more than the prior hour at home. Nice knowing I have double or triple the options for charging on the road now.
Watch teaching videos before jumping in. A small learning curve when hooking up to tesla chargers. Painless process once adept. Been using Electrify America and will no longer after getting the adapter. Using the adapter plug and play is amazing compared to EA i have used the past couple of years. Highly recommend going with the adapter. Also get so many more options for charging around town!
