Perfect for Old Goats!

I updated from the Instinct 2 Solar and am thrilled with the performance of the Instinct 3. It was an easy transition and I kept the Instinct 2, which I was very happy with, as a back up. The battery life is amazing, the accuracy of the GPS and data collection is excellent, the comfort and usability is outstanding!

Not worth the money

I bought this watch like almost 6 months ago and I can say that this watch is not worth its price. The battery charge went from lasting 25 days to 15 days. Before going out to Basic Training I left it completely charged and turned off so honestly Ive used it for a short time. I've been exposed to the sun for long period of time and really the charge you can have from the sun is almost nothing. So it’s not worth spending for a watch that can supposedly have unlimited charging with the solar features. Although I gotta say that it helps me to keep track of my health and my performance during my training.

Oftentimes, changes in battery life is due to settings changes. Please review the settings outlined here to see if making adjustments extends the battery life: http://ms.spr.ly/6429s3rUJ
Solar charging on Garmin devices will extend the time between charges, but you won't see a change in the battery percentage. You should see more details about the time gained in the solar widget though. Our support teams are happy to help with any questions you may have! This thing is great. I had the gen 1 instinct solar watch and upgraded to this gen 3 several months ago and have been very impressed and pleased. It's comfortable, attractive, durable, easy to operate, and performs very well. Looking forward to enjoying this watch for years to come!
