My camera fell out of it

I love the convenience and design of this clip, but unfortunately, my new camera fell out of it—from my shoulder to the ground. The camera survived, but the lens is completely broken and beyond repair. I really wanted to love this clip, but given the price—and now the cost of replacing my lens—I can’t recommend it.

Great but wears quickly, risks dropping camera

I bought this less than a year ago. Since then I’ve been using it with a camera + lens setup that’s about ~2-3% of its rated weight capacity.
I’ve specifically been using it belt mounted with the pro pad.
Regrettably it’s worn very significantly, it’s now much looser, the metal at the bottom is in parts 2/3rds of its original thickness. The metal shavings from the wear also get on your hands every time that you touch the plate on the bottom of your camera.
Peak design has replaced it under warranty but they haven’t mentioned anything about changes to the product or that my specific model may have performed un-expectedly.
I do walk a decent amount (1600km ish since purchasing capture), but I’d expect something with a 90kg rated weight and lifetime warranty to hold up a lot longer than ~9 months.
The other worrying aspect is the thumb screws are very difficult to tighten enough that they won’t work lose, you either need to check them every 20 minutes or so, or add glue to the threads.
The hex head bolts are better, but with the pro pad they stick too far out. I had to cut them shorter.
I think peak design should include an o-ring / some kind of screw retention mechanism as the way capture is designed now you risk dropping your camera if the screws come lose.

Designed to be lost

The worst stupid design. Designed to be lost. I lost the flat base literally in the first use!! Why do you have your screws to need a hex-key !?? Who carries a set of hex-keys on travel or on a hike? Why not flat head everyone easily can tighten and untighten!

Works...but beware of the camera you put it on.

Beware of which camera you use this on. It absolutely destroyed the bottom of my M50, which, unbeknownst to me, couldn't handle the strain of being held and bounced around from the mount. It is simply not robust enough for the clip. I wish there were a warning about cameras this isn't suitable for. I had to glue everything back together to the best of my ability, and now the camera permanently lives in a full cage. Clip went into the camera random bits box.

Absolutely destroyed my Canon r5 mk2

I used to be an enormous fan of peak design. I have used this product for almost 4 years. I have the camera clip as well as their travel tripod.
Of late this thing has caused my Canon R5 Mark II to crash to the ground twice now, as some very subpar workmanship on my replacement clip has caused the screw to come undone.
Seriously, don't risk it.

Not worth it.

Capture clip is a serious liability two times in three years I've had my top-of-the-line Sony camera fall off the clip because the release button can be pushed by nearly anything. Today, my Sony A1 and 70 to 200 mm zoom lens fell onto a gravel road just because a piece of fabric on my sweatshirt released the button. I am not happy and will never recommend or bit anything PD ever again.

BE CAREFULL!!!! The clip is 5.5cm (2.2in) not 6.4cm (3.5in) as said on the box and the description. I lost my money.

Great Idea With a handful of flaws....

love the design, small easy to use. and thats where it stops.... major concerns and flaws i see in 1 use is the Arca tripod-compatible plate is very slim and doesnt take into account that some camera users have a camera case/ rubber bumper. the button to take the camera on and off is very small(fine) until you want to lock and unlock the button and in the case when the camera is connected its hard to turn---(i would recommend knurling the button for making it easier turning as theres little to grab onto) and a little disappointed that the first backpack i tried to connect it to the shoulder straps were too wide.
