Poor design and likely loss of pen

The pen is easily and often knocked off the side of the tablet. With my old Samsung it attached to the back of the tablet where it was encased by the cover (purchased separately) and that worked perfectly. I bought a cover for this TabS11 but it does not cover the pencil so it won't be long before the pencil is lost. THe cynic in me wonders if that is Samsung's intention, to generate extra sales...
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not a good replacement
on October 17, 2025

The pen feel is worse than the round. The nib bent on day 3 and now does weird tracking when lifted off the screen. Where can we buy new nubs or tips? Why didn't it come with extras if it's so fragile?
Wish it stored on the back. All the new cases look horrible with one side wider just to hold pen.
This is adult owned, lightly used. How can it fail so quickly?

What a disappointment

It's too light, it constantly falls off of the tablet, and the button is impossible to find without looking. I legitimately do not like using this pen.

They said pencil and made pencil

This product is inspired by a pencil. Its size, its weight is more close to a real pencil. People who complain about its weight are probably never write or hold a real pencil.

Nice shape, bad features
on September 20, 2025

The love the new shape of the S-pen! It just looks so much more premium because of the refined shape (but it could be better if it weighed more), however, the fact that the s11 can not magnetically connect to the back is a horrible downgrade! That bar on the back of the S-tabs is what makes it look premium, and makes it stand out from others. Additionally, the pen being on the back made it easier and more secure to store...Connecting it to the side would mean having to make a case wider, and it just doesn't look as premium as having it on the back.

the most awful piece of tech I've ever used
on October 29, 2025
Posted by: ttnale
This pen is extremely light which may be seen as a pro or a con. The hex shape of the pen makes clicking the button with the side of your thumb extremely uncomfortable, rendering the pen useless. Furthermore, the magnet is weak and the pen itself feels cheap and flimsy. The pen doesn't write precisely and my pen cracked on its own without me using it overnight. In comparison to its predecessors, this pen is an awful, and I mean AWFUL embarrassment. The quality of this pen does not compare to the previous S-Pens.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback about your S Pen – Galaxy Tab S11/Ultra. We redesigned the S Pen with an improved shape for better precision. To ensure a steady and familiar grip, it has a hexagonal body inspired by a classic pencil. The cone-shaped tip enables smooth and accurate strokes, making note-taking and sketching feel natural. We recognize that preferences differ and are always working to enhance these features. Concerning the crack on your S Pen, please note that Samsung products are covered by a limited 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. Contact our Samsung Support Team to explore warranty options. We're here to assist you. Thank you for choosing Samsung! Pros and Cons
on September 11, 2025
Posted by: Ankit Jatt
Expertise:Beginner
✏️ Design & Build Redesigned Shape: The S Pen now has a hexagonal grip — similar to a traditional wooden pencil — making it feel more natural and stable in hand.
Cone‑Shaped Tip: The new nib supports increased tilt angles, giving better control for shading, sketching, and precision work.
Ergonomics: The shape and balance are aimed at reducing hand fatigue during long writing or drawing sessions.
No Bluetooth Needed: Unlike some older S Pens, this one doesn’t require charging for special features — it uses EMR (electromagnetic resonance) technology and charges automatically when magnetically attached to the tablet.
🖋 Performance & Features Improved Tilt & Pressure Sensitivity: More natural pen strokes, especially for artists and note‑takers.
Quick Tools: Floating shortcuts let you adjust pen settings or switch tools without leaving your app.
Sticky Notes: Capture quick thoughts directly over Samsung Notes without switching apps.
Drawing Assist: Turns rough sketches into clean, AI‑refined visuals.
Writing Assist: Helps rework tone and style in documents or notes.
IP68 Rating: Dust and water resistance means you can use it confidently in more environments.
📱 Integration with Galaxy Tab S11 Series Galaxy AI Support: Works with features like Gemini Live for real‑time collaboration, Circle to Search, and AI‑powered creative tools.
Samsung DeX & Extended Mode: Great for productivity you can annotate documents, mark up presentations, or sketch concepts while multitasking.
Magnetic Attachment: Snaps to the tablet for storage and charging, though some reviewers note the magnets aren’t strong enough to keep it secure in a bag without a case.
💡 Pros More comfortable, pencil‑like feel
Better tilt control for art and design
AI‑powered creative and writing tools
No charging hassle
Water and dust resistant
⚠️ Cons Magnetic attachment could be stronger for travel
No Bluetooth remote features from older S Pens
Some may prefer a smoother, cylindrical grip over the hex design
