I hated every minute of it. Everyone said it would be easy and I did make it through but next year I will get an accountant to do my taxes.
Pros: My employment status changed this year

TurboTax Is Average

TT has been relying on the same old menu options for many years (which is correct considering the IRS) but when you get into the “weeds” the product is often unhelpful and unreliable. For example, the IRS allows combination of RMD withdrawals, but TT complicates this unnecessarily. If audited, I have can produce the paper that correctly verifies my RMDs and they will match my tax filing, but TT wasn’t helpful in achieving that. I appears that the people who wrote that piece of code don’t fully understand RMD withdrawals.

Slightly squirrely... the county didn't load, no big deal, went through a maze, particularly at the end to verify, re-verify, and double dog dare verify my existence. Understood these days I guess

Turbo Tax is good, but not as good as it was

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years. I find it reasonably easy to navigate, and I do like that it imports at least some information from the previous year's taxes. There were, however, some features in previous iterations that I preferred. For example, I seem to remember it being a lot easier to navigate between forms and the entry mode if I wasn't using easy step. I recall being able to click on a highlighted error would allow the user to go to the calculation/form in the worksheet, i.e., tell me how that entry was effectuated.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbotax is a great way to file taxes. I notice that they make updates every year (not the tax updates) but to make the usage easier. One comment is that when entering the Interest and Div for 2024, it was a little inconvenient when entering multiple entries manually
