TurboTax Does the Job

Makes tax filing pretty easy. You still need to pay close attention. Taxes are confusing! Just take your time as you proceed step-by-step, which Turbo Tax will guide you through. Recommendation: save your file occasionally and take a break. No need to finish in one sitting, unless you're filing last minute, and that's on you!

You need to update the 1099-R information / question section. Rollovers that are reinvested within a certain time frame (60 days or 6 months) are exempt from taxes. You don't ask that question, causing me to have to call for your expert advice. Please fix your system prior to next tax season.

e-file suggestion - additional documents needed

One suggestion: after e Filing I need to print forms for the Feds. For me I had to attach Form 8949 - two copies. Why didn't the software include those forms in the PDF I needed to print as a follow up for the e-file? I had to go to FORMS VIEW, find the forms, then print the forms from "inside" the data capture process. The software knows what forms need to be printed, it marked the "check box". Why do I need to do what the software already knows how to do and where the data is located?

Easy to use - sometimes unnervingly so as some scrutiny of 'behind the scenes' data collection and calculations are not seen and can be hard to find.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I bought or sold investments

Taxable social security amount as calculated by Turbo Tax changed during the weeks between when i completed the return and when i filed it.. I would have liked to have an explanation as to why this happened. Instead I spent hours reviewing the returns, unsuccessfully trying to resolve the issue.
