Software is getting worse and worse

So, I filed taxes for 3 different family members. None of us received the 1 free state e-file. You owe me $25. I believe that next year I will try a different software. Your software is becoming more and more difficult, especially when you try to do "what-if's" and when trying to go back to change something. If you enter something it gets stuck in a form, even if you decide not to use that form, which then shows up in the error section before filing. Also, you quit releasing the software on disc, so your bottom line just increased, but no price decrease. If you don't have to make discs, the cost should be less for the software since it is just being downloaded. Next year I believe I will try some other tax software, or go back doing it long hand. Your software is really not saving me money, and the difficult of using it is increasing. Bye Bye

Always good but problems this year with 1099 NEC

Long term TurboTax user. This year the 1099 NEC interface was not user friendly. Took several iterations to debug. TuboTax "Help" was not useful.

Transitioning from $$$ CPA

Over the last 2 years our CPA had transitioned us to an online program to input our tax information (not unlike inputting into TurboTax) and then charged us about $900 for the prepared/reviewed return. Since I felt that I was now doing a significant part of their job for them that I would give TurboTax a try. I feel relatively happy with the process (TurboTax Premier desktop) and most of my frustration was just with the learning curve and time spent reviewing prior CPA prepared years for my own better understanding. I am thinking that next years tax preparation will be significantly easier, in which case I will be very pleased.

2024 version had all schedules i needed and made tax completion simple and easy to follow. it even gave me the addtional info i needed to file a paper copy for PA because of the complexity of my return.

Turbo Tax is great for answering tax issues

Once I figured out where the insert my license code in my Intuit account it was fine. The software is clear to read and has many sub screens to answer questions... And the links to the IRS site help point out directions on where to go.
