Changes to 2024 Program Not So Great

The 2024 version is not as good as the 2023 version for data entry. I do not like the comingling of the 1099DIV and 1099INT or the large boxes that now represent each form. When I work with 1099DIV forms that's all I want to work with. I don't want to wade through a list mixed in with the 1099DIVs and 1099INTs. What made it worse was that they were now listed in big boxes, requiring me to do more scrolling to find what I was looking for.
I also found that while entering information, the enter button did not take me to the next field as it did in the past...not an improvement.
In addition, I also found that in some boxes, I could not right click to enter supporting details or mark it as estimated. I had to go to the tool bar to get that done. It was not a problem in the 2023 version.
All that said, I still trust TurboTax to help me get my taxes done right.

Advice did not happen.

I purchased the tax advice service get answers to questions regarding some 1099MISC income from my wifes clinical trial for alzhiemers that paid use for attendance for infusions. When I talked to the support person she was very helpful in identifing the problem but then referred me to the tax advice service which i then purchased. In then requested the service and was given an expected call back in 9 minutes. I tried to get a call back several times over a three and a half hour period with no response. I think I resolved the problem and filed my returns the next day (today}. Not impressed with my $50 dollar fee for nothing.

Not good for City Taxes

Federal and State tax forms went well. The City (Grand Rapids) was not correct. Information did not transfer correctly and had to abort and fill out the form manually. If your going to offer it, it needs to work correctly.

ACCOLADES!! TO CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have used Turbo Tax for many years. I use Turbo Tax Premier. This year I did have reason to contact turbo tax for two reasons. First, I made contact because I was on the old operating system and had to update my computer. As I got started with the 2024 tax returns, I was unable to save the returns to a PDF or print the returns. Turbo Tax would go no further. Contacted them once more thinking it was possibly a printer issue we moved in that direction, but realized that if unable to save a PDF, the printer did not seem to the issue. I was a bit of a headache and it took time but Customer Service was so patient and not once did a hint of frustration come from the Customer Service Representative. She worked with me diligently until she was able to rectify this issue. Not a single issue since then. Thank you, Turbo Tax !

Been using Turbotax over 15 yr. takes care of all my landlord business, complicated stock market tradings, options and futures easily. Unless you own a business, most people like me would find this product excellent. Get the premier version if you are landlord / stock trader. Well worth the small fee, and get the Audit Defense for peace of mind. Audit defense came to my rescue once and proved to IRS my deduction paid for my son's Ivy League education. Did not have to talk to IRS. They handled it all. Like I said I made 1 "error" my own fault in 15 yr, and Audit Defense made it painless.
