Unsupported Forms?

TurboTax is helpful and I've used it for many years. Over the years, my taxes have become a little more complex with stocks and limited partnerships. I was very disappointed to find out that TurboTax could not fill out a Form 8990 (Limitation on Business Interest Expense) for me because it was "not supported." It doesn't make sense that a software program designed to help you file taxes, can't fill this form out.

Imports needs improvement

Importing investment documents is very cumbersome. We have numerous accounts with one firm and all the imports are only identified by the name of the firm, not the account name or account number. Have to go through each one individually and match a reported figure with a 1099 and then rename the entry. Also, getting a summary of the entries for each 1099 category (INT, DIV, or B) requires going to the forms. When you go to review entries it lumps everything together. Talks loads of time to double check that everything was entered.

Data Entry Terrible

2024 Format is terrible. For example, how to enter interest and dividends--painful. I have used TurboTax since the first edition.

Turbo Tax as Gas!

I use Turbo Tax for the software. I believe I have been using it since the late.90s. I used to use a pencil and paper to do my taxes, then mail them in. TT is so much easier!

overpriced product with very little support

a far cry from what it used to be. Overpriced and provides nearly no information on simple questions, such as: can you deduct investment adviser fees.
