I completed and checked the return, arranged tax payments and tried to E file my taxes. Screen said I was "one click away. Nope "request for more information", click, and a blank 1099-MISC appeared requesting EIN #', name, address etc. of payor. I do not know what it is looking for.

For the most part, I would give 5 stars. One star deducted as I MUCH prefer previous years formats of the interest, dividend & cap gains input/import screens.

Importing previous year data can cause a problem

I used Turbo Tax Premier but wasn't sure if I needed to. Bringing the previous year's data caused me some problems because I accedently left those files in and the data didn't match the banks data that was submitted. There should be a check for that or I maybe should not have used that feature to begin with. It caused my first submittal to be rejected. I did go into the file and deleted the non-petinent data and was approved the second time.

Not impressed this year

This year the software was not as easy to use. Getting to my state return was a bit confusing and the new assistant isn't very helpful. I had to go out to the web and search to input my IP PIN rather than using the "jump to" link. The assistant gave me a bunch of trash answers.

I have been using Turbo Tax for more than 10 years and this years program was the hardest I have ever had to use. I had to adjust how I entered my RMD's to make them come out correctly. I had to correct my HSA withdrawal because of the way it populated. There were several other issues that caused me concern as well. You are trying too hard to upsell to assisted preperation and not paying close enough attention to your core program.
