Turbotax review

Imports from Charles Schwab seem confusing. Instead of importing at the time of need, you are asking for imports upfront. I preferred the old way.

Limit of 4,000 transactions makes it worthless!

After you spend a lot of time importing brokerage data and filling out forms, in the review section, the program tells you that since you have more than 4,000 transactions, you have to somehow edit the list of transactions manually and attach a manually produced summary document. That's just terrible! If I had a simple return I wouldn't need TurboTax

Turbo is a good choice

I've used Turbo for several years and like it. It makes it easy to file and look up information. It also guides you through the steps. I do think it's expensive since I'm just using their forms and it's terrible that they make you pay an additional e-filing fee for the state form. That's really an overcharge since you're just uploading a form.

2024 Disappointment
on April 8, 2025

I have used Turbo Tax for years and this year was no different. However, the software is not up to par for 2024 tax season. I could not easily find my 2023 tax returns, cannot file a state return because the program keeps telling me I am not done. It doesn't show a federal return accepted and I can't eliminate a state that does not have a state tax. Needless to say, I am disappointed. I also believe it has something to do with using the program online. I don't know.

Worst version of TurboTax ever!
on April 8, 2025

I've been a user for at least 15 years. Data input dialogue this year is terrible. Too many clicks required. Too much backtracking. NOT Intuitive. A major step backward in quality and ease of use.
