Turbo Tax is great for experience users

Some answers are difficult to find under the HELP section. Downloaded 1099-B do not have Recipient address properly added - even though it is on the 1099-B

Not as user friendly as I expected

I thought it was not intuitive to download, import and use turbo tax this year. Several of the explanations of required fields were not clear and I had to google the answers (eg. business code on schedule C after the error checking flagged it as missing). Also, I got to the end and tried to file - it told me I needed to "check for updates" before filing. Seems like that should be a button for that if it is applicable for taxpayer. I understand that the program is complicated because taxes are complicated, but the program did not seem intuitive for me.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

TurboTax helps navigate the burdensome tax code

I have been a TurboTax customer for many years and have noticed as the tax code gets more burdensome, TurboTax software seems to be less intuitive. As an example, the software did not ask for my estimated tax payments. I luckily caught this glitch before filing.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Simplified home office deduction did not work
on April 8, 2025

The simplified home office deduction did not work and would have cost me $600 if I did not catch it. Looking at the community website many others experienced the same issue and I was able to do a manual workaround by going to the worksheet and entering 100% use. But it is very disappointing that no one from TurboTax wanted to acknowledge this is an error and needs to be fixed.

TurboTax has changed a bit and isn't quite as user friendly. I still was able to get through it and file my tax. I still will continue to use TurboTax.
