TurboTax is Fantastic!

I use Turbo Tax every year except one year. I moved that year and used a Tax company. I had to do everything and send copies to them. That cost me a tremendous amount of time. After it was over, paid, and filed, I thought about it and bought TurboTax for that year. I had already done all the work for the Tax company, so it was a snap with TurboTax. I found a $4,000 +- error to my favor and now I have to file an amended return. What a waste of money paying the Tax company and me doing all the work. TurboTax asks all the correct questions and gets you the best results.

Good but not getting better

As in the past, TurboTax was mostly straightforward. Not fast, but straightforward. There were too many offers of extra services for extra cost. The Easy Step page listing interest and dividend accounts did not work well.

Buggy Software

This is the first year I've used Premier. I've never had such a buggy TurboTax program in all the years I've used TT. I was reviewing the forms before I e-filed today, and I wasn't able to see the Minnesota forms to check them. It said I had a state refund, but I could not check the forms, so I filed with the hope that everything was correct. I was able to get a printout of the Minnesotan forms, though; I just wasn't able to get them to appear on my computer monitor.

Turbo Tax Scare Tactic

For the most part turbo tax was good. However, asking me to upgrade my version 75% through the return without any significant additional features is a marketing ploy that is nothing more than a scare tactic that I do not appreciate.
