Turbo Tax helps file taxes easy

Turbo Tax needs some improvement

(1) overall good
(2) failed to handle "FAMLI" amount on W2 properly required us to spend several hours searching on internet as to whether the amount is deductible or not. Absent clear answer we chose not to deduct.
(3) Colorado "qualifying charitable contribution subtraction" item on the Colorado return also was not handled well We spent couple of hours searching internet and reading Colorado tax instructions ( with difficulty) to try to understand "qualifying contribution". Turbo Tax should have handled this much better... all we got was file the form.

I understand how difficult it is to keep track of all the forms, changes, and filing requirements. This is main reason we use Turbo Tax- it saves us a lot of time.

Overall, it is very complete and easy to follow/use. There were a few difficulties in importing one brokerage account 1099 from a major brokerage firm. Accounts from some banks that are sizeable do not have imports available. And the Form 1065 K-1 and state RK-1 is tricky to follow, more explanation would be helpful, e.g., a guaranteed partnership retirement payment is not taxable in some states, like Pennsylvania.

the 2024 version is deeply flawed. The fist pass requires interest payment data to be entered which may be downloaded, Then Dividends, which again proposes a down load. Following these instructions leads to duplication ending up with a doubling of real income. I was competent enough o catch it but neophytes may not be so lucky
