Overall the product is very good, but the step by step for the foreign tax credit did not exist, even though the help indicated there was a step by step instructions. Unfortunately, I have to deal with foreign tax credits every year and wish the process was a little more clear and easy to follow.

Off year for Turbo tax - NJ state return software

I have used Turbo tax for many years and there were some changes that I was not necessarily happy with in terms of entering data and being able to drill down to find it when it showed up elsewhere in the review function. Very disappointed with this issue re: NJ tax return. In the review section it stated that there was Dividend Income reported that I could not track back to anywhere. After the NJ review came back as clean and progressing to the filing section, I saved a PDF copy prior to transmitting to file. Clicked Transmit and it came back with a flag/issue in how I entered a W-2 414H deduction in Box 14, which I then corrected. Why did that not get picked up in the Review section?

Application of Refund to next year's estimated tax

this year's version did not give the option of applying refunds to next year's estimated taxes via Easy Step. I had to go to "forms" and manually enter that information. Easy Step then found it "interesting" that I neither owed taxes or will receive a refund. Please fix this omission for next year's version of TurboTax.

TurboTax is helpful

Overall, TurboTax is a solid tool that makes tax filing relatively easy and straightforward. I’ve been using it for several years and appreciate how it walks you through each step.
However, one thing that consistently bothers me is having to re-enter my driver’s license information and current address every time I file. It feels like something that should be securely saved from the previous year to save time and reduce repetitive input.
Still, it gets the job done, and I’ll probably keep using it—just wish it were a little more efficient in remembering past details.

Importing itsdeductable file does work at all

the importing of itsdeductable failed. No matter what i did it would not import the file. I had to enter all the data elements again into turbotax a second time. A real time and effort waster to not have the import process work at all
