Turbo Tax works good for a 93 year old guy! However, downloading it on the computer was impossible for me to do. Needed my son to come over to do it. Hope you go back to the CD format which was so easy for me to use!

1. No one in my city sold a hard copy of Turbo Tax so I was forced to use Download. I could not do it. The directions were very confusing. I had to have my grandson in NC download on his computer and walk me through the steps. 2. I tried to pay my state using my Fed refund and program would not let me do it.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Investment Section needs work

1099B investment income is very clunky. We should be able to see all of the transactions, sort, filter, etc to make the review process quicker. Allowing only 25 per page is not helpful.

Turbo Tax is Lacking

TurboTax fails to know what it should know. Multiple times it asked me whether I had some kind of carry-over from last year. Now, since I have been using TT for years, it already knows my past history. It automatically refers to my prior returns to determine stock loss carry-overs, for example. Yet for other similar things (energy credit carry-overs, for example), it fails to reference prior return, and tells me to go back and look up past returns.
TT also fails to fill in all required information. For example, after going through the entire TT process, it does a final check, and tells me that I need to fill in a passive loss amount that was left blank. WELL, WHO LEFT IT BLANK? (Not me.) In the popup that TT presented to me, there were zeros in all the other lines nearby, so I just put a zero in the yello highlighted line. I have no idea what should have gone there, or why TT failed to fill it in. After all, that's why I buy TT-- to translate the brokerage supplied 1099s into proper entries in Form 1040. (And this was even with the 1099s supplied electronically by downloading via TT Premier.
P.S. When filling out the lines below, and supp[lying my nickname (which I have used for years), TT now won't even accept it. So, I just entered ran dam characters because that field is required. That is a perfect example of TT inadequacy. Stuff is required, and it rejects the information I supply.
