This year Turbotax instructions were more incomplete, harder to understand, and harder to follow than last year. The part on Massachusetts return was especially unclear and missing instructions on my case, dealing with taxes due to another state, DC. The Turbotax assumption was that I would be filling DC state return, whereas in my case DC requires only Form D-30. Once I started doing my Federal return, there was no way to delete the DC return suggested by TurboTax. Quite frustrating...

Good product, if the standard deduction isn't best

Need a method to quickly determine if the standard deduction is best. spent hours collecting and inputting deduction paperwork only to determine standard deduction was best.

Disappointed long time Turbo Tax user.

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and have always had a good experience, however, this year, while generally my experience was good, I was unable to file my state return electronically. I attempted to do so numerous times but when I tired to pay for the filing, it always would not process. I had went back and installed any updates to no avail. Finally, I chose to file my return by mail because I was terribly disappointed that the product would no work as promised. I would have given a five star rating otherwise. I wonder if the processing wouldn't work because the program wished for the default to be to have the processing fee deducted from my refund which would have triggered a $40 Turbo Tax processing fee reducing my refund further. It doesn't matter, I have chosen filing my state return by mail.

Turbotax is in a different State

It does automate basic items, but Turbotax Premier does not pay attention when you select certain options. For example when you live in a state that does not have an Income Tax, Turbotax still tries to get you to fill out a State Tax return. Also, this review page does not allow scrolling down to the "Personal/Product Information" section.
