Bad User Experience

Throughout the process of using the software I received extremely vague error messages that I was only able to solve by googling online and then going through several iterations of trial and error. Moreover, the fix for the errors I encountered could have been easily automated by the software itself.
In addition, the explanations for the various tax concepts are often unhelpful. Again, I found myself googling for better explanations of many of the concepts.

Adequate but not amazing.

Meh. Some things that could have carried over from federal to state didn't. Importation of 1099s is a disaster. If I imported my 1099, why do I need to tell you if my interest is from treasurys? Why don't you know what my foreign source income was, and which state my muni bond interest is from? Come on, guys.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Good tool and does the work

I have been using the TurboTax for more than 20 years. My general view of the tax filling software is that it is nothing fancy, but it works and does the job. For a software that we use once a year, I am not asking for more than that.
The 2024 version has one plus and one minus: Plus, it has a feature to scan the PDF, which is nice. I don't want to the software connect directly to my W2 server, so it saved my time to enter the data multiple. Minus: It crashed a few times, that was annoying. Luckily, the data was not lost so it was just a scare rather than real damage.

EFFICIENT

Compared to other tax programs, the appearance of the pages and the layout looks very amateurish & cheep. Constantly having to zoom due to extra small font. Many drop-down menu's you are unable to use the mouse wheel to roll through the choices. Can only use the slider bar on right edge. Loved the fact it would download from financial institutions and input to correct areas. Please make it more user friendly.

Wish it stil had the CD, but a good program

I am sorry there is no longer a CD that goes with it and even sorrier it will no longer be supported by Windows 10 next year. It was MUCH harder to download on my PC without the CD. It had a few areas that were confusing with adding RMD in my income and I didn't know until the very end of the filing that it would not count against my total adjusted gross income. It should explain that initially.
