Turbo tax seemed buggy this year. It asked me for Employer tax ID three times and again right before filing

Although this is my first year as a full retiree I did note that not having feedback on W-2s was strange but I was able to navigate the return process using only retired (1099) figures and data. Also, my 401K fiduciary changed before December 2024 and sent me Required Minimum Distributions (2). I had not withheld State withholding, so I had to deal with owing additional taxes to the State. Turbo Tax (and probably other Intuit products) could implement some cursor over or separate linked webpages to provide info for retirees who are navigating new IRS forms and rules for the first time. Luckily my case isn't complex so I was able to figure out what needed to be done. I did reach out to the Help Center for questions about paying through using my Federal refund. In the end I elected to use my credit card, which went well with the TT software.

Having problems this year.
Everytime I restart turbo tax it wants to update the same set of updates.
Don't know what happened to the state still looking for that.

Turbo tax is fine but once you get to a more complex situation financially (higher income, more assets), it is probably time to move onto an accountant to get advice.

Turbotax - I just keep using it

Been using it for years so keep using it. If over half of the partner input functions and payment input functions hadn't failed I would have given the program four stars.
Also, I am already paying for the product. Stop hammering me with advertisements to drive more revenue for the company. I could have done my taxes for free with normal forms.
