one tiny glitch but otherwise awesome

Turbo Tax works well for me. This year I only encountered one snag. In the donations section I couldn't find a way to donate new items.The program assumes that donated items are used items.

Good tax software

Used TT for years. Sometimes the questions are a bit confusing, but they are getting better as the years go on. The finally fixed the insanity on the tax exempt interest which many tax payers have less than $50 of and so have to split pennies of interest over the states and when TT truncates and forces your input few dollars of tax exempt interest, then truncates the pennies to balance, which forces an out of balance condition -- - leaves the tax payer pulling their hair out using excel to spread the pennies over the states to force balance pennies of tax exempt interest. Gratefully this insanity appears to be fixed on the federal level this year. Now you put in the pennies earned tax exempt interest for your state then the balance for the remaining states in another box. Hopefully they will fix this insanity on the AZ form for the same topic as that is still incredibly painful as AZ requires each state for the $50 in tax exempt interest you earned to be input. Since TT cuts off pennies, then you have to switch over to the form to hand input pennies by state the tax exempt interest. That is always an hour of ridiculous unnecessary data entry pain if TT would allow pennies to be entered so it could balance as Arizona wants it to.

Your product is pretty good. I would have rated it with four stars but your pricing (and nickle and dimeing) is excessive. You have tiered pricing depending on which features you need - clearly a purely profit driven approach. One alternative to your product is freetaxusa which is much less expensive. It's not as good of a product, but it's pretty good and much more affordable. Right now you're top dog, but the funny thing about top dogs is that there is always someone who's trying to knock you off your pedestal and eventually it's gonna happen (especially when you make no effort to make your product more affordable).

Turbo tax Premier 2024 is d WORST

Premier 2024 is the WORST. I can NOT import my Fidelity 1099 B's into the Premier. Your customer support said to manually type it . What ??? I usually use Deluxe but this time I used the Premier coz it's free for Fidelity clients. The representative said Deluxe is not compatible with d Premier. I told her I can NOT do that coz I'm a trader . I trade everyday so there will be a lot. I called Fidelity n was told that that's what their clients said Premier is not importing 2023. I will STOP using Turbotax from now on. Too bad I use Turbo since 2015. Turbo Premier is d WORST for 2024 tax season. BEWARE customers.

PIN process needs work

The Identity protection PIN process needs some work as does the need to provide an EIN for foreign banks. My return has been rejected twice because the IRS does not accept the PIN, even though it remains unchanged from prior years. The final review keeps stumbling on the need to provide an EIN for foreign banks where I have retirement savings. Sometimes 99-999999 works, sometimes not. This requirement needs to be removed for foreigh banking institutions.
