I had to gripe to one of the chat persons about how much it costs to file before I was told that I could buy the software download for about half the price.

Not good Have used for many years and this was the worst year ever. No way to get help without having to pay more money. I already piad for the disk. Could not e-file. Had to mail it in.

I'm the unique situation of having no ID except a Retired U.S. Armed Forces ID card. When I e-filed and tried to pay the tax TurboTax would not accept the ID. I talked to a very patient representative, Angela, who eventually told me I needed to get a State ID.
Having a hard time believing my situation so unusual that TurboTax did not have a solution to my problem, I called again and got another patient representative, Crystal. After many retries, she finally hit on a solution that was not logically apparent, but it worked!
I would give TurboTax a 5-star rating except for this shortcoming. Intuit should make the instructions clear as to how ancient, retired military members can file and pay without a state driver's license or ID.

I loved the questioning for making sure I considered everything I was entitled to. It kind of gives you a false sense of hope when it says your tax return is error free. I had to refer back to my last years taxes to see what I should have entered, and some checked boxes were incorrectly assumed by Turbo Tax, especially in depreciation forms. Overall I loved Turbo Tax, it was the first time using it, and I will certainly use it next year.
