Got me thru it

I feel that TurboTax does pretty well overall. But some times it asks me for information from the previous years taxes that I think it should have been able to pull forward after gathering information from the file for the previous year. And sometimes it isn't clear about what information is brought forward, (like Capitol Loss carryovers, Passive Loss carryovers, and Foreign Tax Loss carryovers).

Hidden Fees

Horrible hidden upcharges at every turn, ended up paying close to 200$ to file. will be switching to military onesource next year, im sick of this happening with big companies.

Frustration

An error in a worksheet with no explanation where to find the information needed to fix the error.
No ability to check the date of scheduled withdrawal after not showing up on instruction sheet. And still don't know if it's scheduled!
The program determined we could not e-file our state taxes after we had already filled in all the information but then providing instructions for e-file.

Turbo Tax for most people is like Tax for Dummies

I am not sure why anyone with a fairly straight forward tax situation - W2's and maybe some investment income ever goes to a professional preparer to have their taxes done. If they only realized that Turbo Tax provides step by step instructions - better than most pro's instructions - they could save a lot of money.
