I have used Turbo Tax for over 35 years to pay both my federal and state taxes. Each time the process is smooth, efficient, and accurate for a very low cost.

Program works as advertised

Works as advertised - relatively smooth program overall - but I really wish that there were no so many 4 and 5 minute software updates after I already filed my taxes - since I am paranoid I really have to go back and check my filed taxes to see if any of the data or actual values (numbers) have changed. Don't know if the changes for 2024 season were as numerous as the earlier years but it seemed like there were more.

Reduced User Friendlyness of 2024 TurboTax

Compared to the past decade of using TurboTax, this version is vastly inferior due to change in way dividends and interest are included. It assumes that the same banks, investment houses etc. which is OK, but when you download many items are '0' as a new line is added, and it is not obvious hoe to delete the '0' item.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I use the premier program because I have royalties, and you change the program every year. It is so aggravating. Also, you advertise one free State, but you charge for the filing. It's always been free filing for the first State, but now you're going to charge. I've always used TurboTax, but I may have to try a different program next year.
