It would be more helpful if the data from broker 1099 composites were captured/entered separately for each account. Consolidating them by type of income makes it more difficult to check the tax forms against the broker statements. They can be aggregated inside the software for an overall view of the data.

Software is great, had a couple of flaws for 2024

For the most part this software is fantastic, it provides assistance and guides you through the process. That said, I ran into a couple of issues this year.
1. It was difficult to delete duplicated 1099 forms and 1099 forms with zero information.
2. It was difficult to enter information for large items purchased during the year. Once I had entered information and tried to go back and update, it was complicated and I had to enter directly into the Forms.

Turbo Tax is awesome!

Like most other people, preparing my taxes is one of my least favorite things to do. However, at least Turbo Tax makes it relatively easy for me to enter all my information and understand what I'm doing along with the choices I make. Each year, all my information is transferred to my new return and I'm able to download data from my financial advisor directly to my return saving me a tremendous amount of time.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved, I bought or sold investments

for the first year since the inception of e-filing I was unable to e-file because phantom errors in the passive loss carryovers prevented. I see there have been other comments on this problem, but no solutions.

I have used Turbo tax for decades and have been very satisfied with the program. No need to try any other tax preparation program. Easy to use, just follow the questions.
