There are too many times through the process of you Pushing to sell additional services. Your tax software is already the most expensive tax software available, and you keep pushing people to spend more. next year I may try another companies tax software.

TurboTax Gets the Job Done With Some Coaxing
on March 31, 2025

Turbotax is overall pretty good, but they have made it confusing to add 1099-INT forms if they are not imported with your brokerage statements - don't remember this in the past. (I eventually figured out how to do it, but it was not as easy as it should have been.) Also, Turbotax does not provide a way to eliminate the 10% penalty on 529 education savings programs for unqualified distributions that were caused by a student receiving scholarships - you have to go into forms mode and override an entry on line 6 of form 5329 to remove the 10% penalty. It took a lot of research on Turbotax forums to discover this fix for a know issue.

Extremely Poor Correction Help and Work Saving
on March 31, 2025

The review process used to be so much easier. If a mistake was found, you just clinked on the error and it took you to the Turbo tax page where the info needed to be added or corrected. Now you have to write down the error and wade through the return to find where to fix it. The error correction process shows the tax from on which the error occurs but there is no way that I could find that shows where in turbo tax that form information is entered. Just a total frustration and waste of time.
This is even worse if your return is rejected, and you click on the fixit icon. You get a message that it is now fixed but it used to take you to the turbo tax page where you needed to make the correction. Now you just get a message that is fixed with no automatic link to the place where the correction needs to be made.
A third thing. When you are doing your taxes and you save your work for latter, the program saves numbers but doesn't save all of your answers to the stupid questions like did you take a disaster cleanup credit.
