TurboTax 2024 Review

The product is excellent and I was able to complete my return without assistance. I am disappointed Intuit no longer sells TurboTax with a CD. When I proceeded with the Internet version, I found it very cumbersome and it took some research to figure out I could purchase the original style of TurboTax online. Intuit should make it much clearer that you can still download TurboTax with the same look and feel as the version I used to purchase on a CD. I also paid more buying it directly than I would have had I purchased the code from a retailer.

Poor Import Process

The newly designed import process is very difficult to work with - and it is impossible to import and update one imported account from a financial institution without deleting and re-importing the entire set of accounts.

A step backward in ease of use

User interface was much more awkward than previous tax year. Tried to download tax forms for two accounts from a brokerage, and it always deleted the other set of forms. Very difficult to review all 1099's that have been entered because you have to select and expand each one - there is no easily available summary.

The program did not load as require. It took several days and several calls. A real pain, the first time I ever had a problem like that.

option to mail state taxes

Why is there no option under file taxes to print State to mail?
Every year it takes time to find the print option to file state, which I will do as it cost extra money to E-file.

The interview method is very helpful for the occasional tax filer. Ensures the right data gets into the correct IRS tax form. No need to wade through numerous, complicated and lengthy IRS forms and worksheets.
