Lot's of doovers, redirection and repeats to things I already entered. Annoying. Quality has slipped in my opinion.

Easy to use

I have used TurboTax for years because it's pretty easy to use but had a scary moment trying to file because the product did not automatically update (as it has in the past) and I had to force an update. It took quite a while to find the right place to go to.

Turbo Tax is mostly awesome

The only real issue is when I had to deal with investments, selling, capital gains. I had chosen that I didn't buy all the investments due to inheritance but then I backed out of it and it didn't allow me to choose did buy all the investments. I don't know if it makes a difference. Since it didn't bring it up again on the review, I assume it didn't but maybe a little more information on that section would help.

worked ok. some of the efile process was better than last year. Still a few basic things which could be more clear but adequate how tos were available via the Internet.

Clunky but still reliable

I have used TurboTax for close to ten years consecutively. The 2024 Premier seemed clunky and glitchy. Ex: I would click back and it would bring me to a "this section is done" type page that I hadn't seen before, or it did not prompt me for dependent care providers when entering dep care amts per child, then I finished all credits/deductions, wanted to go back to this tax credit and the second time through it prompted me for provider information (I was confused why it did not prompt me for that info the first time though that section).

IRA contribution mix up

First time filing as a retiree, TT worked fine except for the ira deposit of $8000, i put in $8000 contribution in an IRA for me then $40000 for my wife, my refund was about $12000. Then i changed my wife's ira contribution to $8000 and my refund was $12600. Why would a lower ira contribution yield a higher tax refund?
