Disappointed in the new changes this year
on March 27, 2025

Always rated TurboTax Excellent until this year (2024 returns). A lot of changes were made to the user interface - I didn't like the changes (didn't add value to the user experience, only added confusion). One bug ... I clicked on Medical Expenses in Deductions section and the link took me to the HSA questions regarding my withdrawals from my HSA. I had to go to the Schedule A form to enter my medical expenses.

2024 Premier format needs fine tuning

I have used Turbotax for many years and it always worked well. But this year enhanced user friendly design of the Premier version did not work well for me. The middle option of more guidance but without additional cost was not very helpful. I thought it would be useful but after struggling with the "user friendly questions", returned to the basic do-it-myself format. I also had problems with the final "error checking". There were fields related to 1099-Div that were hard to complete as Fidelity downloads did not provide detail information required for the 1099-B questions posed by Turbo Tax. It took research and second guessing on my part to come up with acceptable answers.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Why add the RMD questions at end?
on March 27, 2025

All was good until the new questions at end about RMDs? Why ask about RMDs on pension plans that pay monthly with no known balance? I took the RMD from the one 401 account I have, and it was already listed. All the other 1099 Rs were from pension payments that were made monthly that are fixed amounts which I don't control or have a balance. One 1099R was for a onetime payment from a City pension account due to an overage in account.

most part of TurboTax is Awesome, but can improve more. For example, I can't find "Passive Operating loss" amount from K-1 form, but TurboTax force me to enter an amount. I don't know what to put there.

It's great!

Love it! But very confused and disappointed that was not able to E-file OR return like usual. Appeared to be due to needing to send in Portland OR City tax forms, but previously I just print these and send them in separately. Even unclicking the box to e-file the city returns didn't make it possible to E file the Oregon return.
