Trouble with data transferring to the state return

Turbo tax is very easy to use however I had trouble with several deductible items that would not transfer from the federal input data section to the state return. These items are no longer deductible on the fed return however they are extremely valuable on the state return. After many hours of trying to get them to transfer I finally accomplished this by opening the state form in turbo tax and manually adding them.

I have used Turbo Tax since 1989. Have found it makes taxes easy to file and the support for extra information, expert advice if needed, and the free audit support now is great. All this keeps me coming back to TT each year.

Always have trouble saving PDF file. Says there is a problem. Also have problem opening PDF returns that Turbo tax was finally able to save. Also, price keeps going up with no better interface. Next year there is a tax preparer in my town that charges $75 buck. I think I will use him and just drop my stuff off to him. Less headache.

A poorly designed product. After two days finally the software got it right. NOW there is no way to delete all that audit data at the end of the submission... that is no longer needed and will ... trust me... create an audit like last time ... that we won... since all errors were corrected before submission. Time and aggravation. Thanks "coders"

Good but NEEDS IMPROVEMENT on HSA

For the most part, product does what it is supposed to do. That said...
Just had to work with my daughter to get her taxes completed. After starting a new job, she signed up for an HSA - for 6 months of 2024 (never again!). The interview questions - to get through this process - are simply awful. No human making these selections understand what an HDHP... None? Self? Family? No clarity on HOW to make the proper selections. And how would she have known that you had to make this selection by month? And super difficult to distinguish between EMPLOYER contributions and EMPLOYEE contributions and when how they get entered. I am so glad she got non HSA medical coverage for 2025.
