TurboTax average at best with broken printing

It is surprising to me the number of issues with this SW after being on the market so many years. Navigation continues to be cumbersome, the prompts vague and pretty useless when asking a question, and printing isn't right. I've always had issues with printing using Turbotax, but this year is the worst. It won't print the Fed tax summary/cover page nor the estimated tax summary listing the dates, mailing address and amounts. Those pages are not even available under the individual form printing option. It's been reported on the support site but no fix. You can google search it to see it. Crazy!

2024 is the buggiest software yet

I've been using TurboTax for many years. This year will be my last. Doesn't anyone beta test this software? First, the download web page to install TurboTax was unresponsive. I tried different browsers, I cleared the cache, nothing. Had to call for assistance; at least the representative, when I finally reached a live person, knew what she was doing. Apparently I was not the first person to have issues. The 2024 Premier software had so many bugs I don't even know where to begin. Among other things, if you went through the entire interview, you did not get you to the place where you could enter which portion of your dividends were US government obligations. I was done with the wages and income section when I realized that I had not been given an opportunity to do that. So I had to go back in, locate a summary page for investment income, and then go through a series of drop-down menus to find an Edit button. This is an important feature for investors who aren't inclined to pay more state tax that is actually owed -- and Premier is supposed to be for filers with investment income! There was also a ridiculous issue with a brokerage name being too long for a form. When the error check was run, however, you couldn't change the name where you were supposed to edit it. I couldn't even change it by going into the form itself. I had to return to an early section of the interview and find another place where I could edit the name. And this was information that was initially imported electronically, not entered by me. When the tax filing software program is more byzantine than the tax code itself, we are really in trouble. The only good change I noticed in 2024 is that the Foreign Tax Credit was finally cleaned up and didn't require me to go into the form to tweak it manually, as I have had to do many times in the past.

It was easier this year to fill out the forms. Need to fix the both, button, if both is selected it should be set in the application for all incomes, let the user change to a single income input.

Turbotax was always cumbersome to use and has not improved over the years. Perpetual bugs plague the software. It doesn't seem Intuit puts much effort into the product. The user interface is ancient and functionality is generally poor. If you want to review an item, you often need to answer the same questions again rather than being able to take a high level overview. So many issues especially if you have brokerage tax forms imported with short sales. I will look to other providers next year.
