Started with tax payer assist - online. Just AWFUL, too many screens. Asked friends, found I could download to my PC, so much BETTER !

From Software to Money Grubbing

Turbo Tax has gone from a tax preparation software package to a multiple revenue generating machine for Intuit. Constantly one is hit by fees and unwanted services such as tax preparation or audit defense. To e file in North Carolina, a $25 fee. To pay a $42 tax bill, a $40 fee. And the repetitive questions drive me crazy. Next year I will look for an alternative software package that just does what I want.

TurboTax would have the fifth star if the "Smart Check" feature would auto fill the information with prior entries, to would explain in simple terms the information missing.

Turbo tax is misleading.

I am not certain why I am being asked for $40 to file my taxes after it said it was included in the software. Also asking for $25 for State when also listed as included in software. Either it is included or it isn't. This is the second year in a row that it asks for additional fees at the end. I don't understand why.
