TurboTax Issues

This year was more difficult to use than previous years as the Search and then "Jump To" feature is missing. In previous years, if I wanted to know where to enter SEP-IRA income, I could search under SEP, find the link, click and be taken to the appropriate step-by-step for the form. My other complaint--long standing--is that you cannot search within the list of tax data entered to quickly find a form/entry.

Schedule C Sales Transactions More Complicated

This year's version of TurboTax was more cumbersome than past years because the format of the questions was not as user friendly. In particular I was disappointed with the capital gains and losses section. I imported our consolidated Form 1099's from UBS Financial Services and the software required me to review every sales transaction. Specifically, where we had multiple sales from a mutual fund TurboTax picked up the date of the last sale rather than picking up "various". Then I stumbled upon an option to select "various" from a drop-down. Why doesn't the software automatically select "various" rather than requiring the user to go through these additional steps? Also, in the past the TurboTax didn't require me to review every transaction but now it does. The import should take care of downloading what's in the Form 1099.

I highly recommend Turbo Tax tax preparation program to EVERYONE! I have used it for years and have never had a problem. The IRS has never questioned anything on my Turbo Tax prepared tax return.

UNNECESSARY CHANGES IN INTEREST AND DIVIDENDS

I've used TTax for over 20 yrs and love it BUT NOT SO MUCH THIS YEAR. You changed the Interest and Dividends section in Wages and Income to a cartoonish looking and operating mismash where it should have remained as it has since your first began with the same clean display and operation that you "Thank God" kept intacked in the Retirement Plans and Social Security Section. WHY DID YOU MAKE THIS CHANGE???? It was not needed and is inefficient.

Improve Options Short selling processing.

Mostly good. One complaint: TurboTax doesn't know how to handle options short selling. In Sell open case, you sell first, and buy later. This has been processed in brokerage form.\ and it treats buy and sell date the same and treat buy price to 0. but This seems to confuse TurboTax and ask to reenter buy date and buy price. I have many such trades so takes time to confirm. My suggestions is to just trust brokerage data.
